HASSE(Houston Association for Space and Science Education，简称HASSE)的第一次合作。
This summer，I spent my summer vacation at space camp，I had a lot of fun there! We went to two museums and two Labs，these are the best part of the trip，not only because we can improve our knowledge，but also train us to work as a team. During the camp, I took part in many different kinds of activities ，some of them are really dangerous and scary，such as “ifly”，but the teachers and coaches always encouraged us and offered some help, now I feel more confident than before.
I had to wake up at least 6:30 a.meveryday, that makes me feel sleepy during the whole afternoon……In general，the trip to the United States of America was perfect! I would like to work as an assistant when I am 18 years old so that I can go to space camp again. I hope they'll give me a chance!
In JulyI left my parents and went to a space camp. Before that, I was so scared about not being able to speak English fluently. It felt beyond belief and interesting. We learned about rockets and sharks!
When we were there, we dissecteda shark. The teacher told us more about the shark, and that the shark's liver is very big.The shark can use it to move up and down in the water. We found our shark didn’t have anything in its stomach. I guess it was so hungry.
We went to the Johnson Space Center, and saw many models of rockets, and learned more about them. We made a DIY model of the rocket. That was interesting.
When I went to Space Camp I learned many things by doing everything by myself. I met lot of friends, and we also had fun. Finally, I need to thank all of my teachers for helping me and thankmy parents for their support.
On this trip I learned a lot about space rockets and how to make friends with foreigners. The most exciting activity was the shark dissection.
First of all, we went to a college and the teacher taught us about the different types of sharks, their habits, and their viscera. After lunch, we started the dissection of the shark. We observed the shark and cut its tummy (from the bum to the jaw). Then we looked inside its body, cut its liver, and took all the viscera out of its body. It was cool! Finally, we checked the last meal it ate before it died. Even though it was smelly and disgusting, the knowledge we learned was more important than the smell!
We also visited NASA’s Johnson Space Centre. I saw a spacesuit, a real spaceship, and a rocket. The most important thing we learned was the history of getting into space.
During the second week, we joined Space Camp and there were many foreign students everywhere, but we were all friendly to each other. Whether we were on our way to the classroom or during recess, we always said, “Hi! Yeah, give me five!” so we made a lot of friends.
Let life be beautiful like summer flowers. This trip let me think differently and made my life more meaningful.
